Belonging to the Fabaceaefamily and native to West Africa, its wood is lemon-yellow to yellowish-brown, with a fine, relatively even texture, slightly interlocked grain, and sometimes a decorative figure resembling satinwood. It has moderate durability and good insect resistance, along with relative ease of finishing and polishing.

Common Uses: Its distinctive golden color and even texture make it desirable for work where appearance is a key factor, such as fine furniture and flooring, while decorative veneer cut from it is used to beautify surfaces, and it also suits interior joinery that calls for an elegant touch.
