Erythrophleum ivorense/ Erythrophleum suaveolens

  • Marine
  • Flooring

Belonging to the Fabaceae family, it grows in West and Central Africa. Its color is yellowish-brown to reddish-brown, darkening with light exposure, with a coarse texture and interlocked grain. It is among the heaviest and hardest African woods and one of the most resistant to decay and marine organisms, classified among the naturally highly durable woods that require no treatment.

Common Uses: Its high natural durability and resistance to marine organisms make it a reliable choice for heavy construction and railway sleepers, and it is also used in harbor and quay works and heavy-duty flooring that remains under constant pressure and friction.
